The Session

Q:  Where does the session take place?

The session may take place in studio or on location.

Q:  How long does the session last?

Sessions may last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, allowing plenty of time for feedings (newborns, etc), playing getting comfortable with each other. Sessions are never rushed, that everyone will feel calm and relaxed. If your child is sick or unusually cranky that day please call Time 2 Remember to reschedule your appointment time with us.

Q:  How far in Advance should I schedule my session?

Sessions are booked up approximately 2-3 weeks in advance, so please schedule as early as possible to ensure there are openings for your desired session date. Especially, if it is for a maternity, or newborn session.

Q:  What time should I arrive for my session?

All sessions are by appointment only. Please try to be on time. If you arrive early you may have to wait for another session to finish. If you are late you will have less time available for you own session. If you anticipate being more then 15 minutes late you may need to call Time 2 Remember to reschedule for another day.

Q:  What time is the best time for my session?

It is best (and recommended) to have morning sessions for babies and children, as it is the time of day they seem to be their happiest and is ideal for creating the best portraits. In addition, sessions are usually more productive with smaller numbers of people present.

Q:  Should I bring someone with me to help me with my children?

Children tend to get over stimulated with several people trying to get them to smile. Sometimes the very best portraits are created when everyone has left the room to allow Stacie to work one on one.

Q:  Do you shoot black or white or Color?

Both, actually. Prior to the session, Stacie or Rebecca will sit down and discuss the type of portrait you desire, such as black and white, sepia (brown tone), color, hand colored, Along with which factors are most important to you.

Q:  Can I have BOTH black and white and color?

Yes, we can create both b/w and color images for you to choose from. However it is best to decide the goal for the session as this determines the best clothing selection. Also Children do not like to change clothing. SO it is really best to leave them in one outfit.

Clothing

Q:  What do you recommend for my child/family to wear?

Stacie likes to keep the focus on the subject; therefore, simple clothing choices are the most ideal for creating classic portraits. Solid color clothing is highly recommended, so as not to detract from the expression. Please try to avoid logos or busy patterns.
To achieve the most natural look, casual dress is preferred.
IF families or couples or children are being photographed together, clothes that are similar in style and color are best for a nice coordinated look.
Bare feet are preferred over shoes.
Children also look great in bare skin/bare feet, which is the preference for newborn and most children under the age of one.
For children one outfit is sufficient.
Maternity, portraits can be clothes or nude. For Nude shots, hands, fabric, or various poses can be used to cover body parts.

Q:  What colors are best for black and white portraits?

For black and white portraits, you want to be sure to avoid white clothing. Darker color clothing is preferred. This does not necessarily mean BLACK. It can be red, dark green, dark blue, maroon, purple, maroon, etc.

Q:  What colors are best for Color Portraits?

For color portraits any color will work. Be sure to choose colors that compliment the subject(s).
If you are having an outdoor session, please be sure to avoid green colors.

Stacie will provide you with a image catalogue and limited time CD for you to take home along with a cool slideshow in Studio. Most clients are in tears by the end of the presentation.

Q:  How long is the Presentation?

A One and half hour appointment will be scheduled for your presentation, but if you feel you need more time please let Stacie know so that arrangements can be made.

Q:  Who should come to the viewing?
